Overview

A jump starter is forgettable gear until one button turns a stranded morning back into a normal one.

The GB40 is a 1000 amp lithium jump pack built for normal rigs - daily drivers, small trucks, side by sides, and yard equipment up to about a 6 L gas engine or 3 L diesel.
It is small enough to live in a door pocket but strong enough to wake up a dead battery that has been sitting a little too long.

Its protection features do not make the connection procedure foolproof. The clamps are chunky and the status lights are clear. If an indicator reports an error, stop and check the manual before proceeding.* At camp it does double duty charging phones and running the built in flashlight when you do not feel like digging out a lantern.

Best for Truck kits, road trips, older batteries, solo travel, and anyone who wants jump capability without another vehicle.
Not for Large diesel engines beyond its range, neglected batteries, or people who never keep electronics charged.

This is emergency insurance, not a battery maintenance plan. Keep it charged and still fix the root problem.

This is the kind of tool you forget about until the exact moment it saves the day. That only works if it is charged and easy to reach.

  • Top it off on a schedule, not after you need it.
  • Keep the clamps and instructions with the unit.
  • Do not let a jump starter become an excuse to ignore a dying battery.

Before using the GB40

Use guidance · follow both the jump-pack and vehicle manuals.

Use NOCO’s GB40 support page and user guide together with the vehicle manual.

  • Confirm the vehicle, battery chemistry, voltage and engine are within the pack’s supported use. Identify the approved jump points before attaching anything.
  • Do not attempt a jump on a damaged, leaking or frozen battery. Keep eyes protected and remove conductive jewelry; route the pack and leads away from moving parts.
  • Follow the GB40 guide’s connection, starting-attempt, cooldown and removal instructions. Stop on an error or uncertain polarity.
  • Do not bypass a warning with manual override. Override disables safety protections.

A successful start is not proof of battery or charging-system health. Arrange appropriate diagnosis if the fault returns, and recharge/store the pack as its manual directs.

Keep the truck ready

Power, light, and a way home when the battery gives up.

Pair this with a solid headlamp, basic tool roll, and a sane camp kit and most little emergencies turn into minor delays instead of full disasters.
