Overview
Shaded loops in tall pines with quick walks to quiet coves - busy, friendly energy without losing that Rim-country feel.
Fool Hollow sits on the edge of Show Low at ~6,300 ft. You get paved access, real pads, and easy lake time - coffee at blue hour, slow laps along the shoreline trail, and a crowd that is here to fish, paddle, and grill.
It is popular on weekends. Reserve when you can, and pick an interior loop if you want less foot traffic after dark. Lakeside pads see more action near the ramps and day-use zones.
For quieter nights, choose an interior loop and walk to the shore for sunrise laps.
